Europe Travel Checklist
Traveling to Europe in a week?

I’m a sophomore in high school, and I’m traveling to europe a week from monday as a T.A. for my middle school art teacher.

I was wondering if anyone knows a site that has a complete checklist for traveling overseas? Or multiple sites – I want to know what I can and can’t take on the plane, what I should double check, what I should pack, etc. etc.

Or if any of you are expert travelers, any advice is welcome.
Thank you!

PS – I have my passport, so I don’t need to worry there.
Paris, Rome, and London.

I’m not worried about clothes so much as the little tips: What do I do to secure my luggage on the night train? What should I take when it comes to documents and copies? Etc. etc.

And my computer has a virus, I can’t use google.

You are going to have a great time!!

Security tips:
1. Scan your passport (the page with ID number etc on it) and email it to yourself and a family member. If you lose your passport you will need this info to get a new one. You can also make a xerox copy of this page and keep it in your luggage or carry on bag.
2. Look up the addresses and phone numbers of the American embassies in every country you are traveling to. Keep this info in a journal.
3. Look into travel insurance for illness, accidents, etc.. it is very affordable.
4. Buy a money belt or the kind you wear around your neck- keep your money, passport, tickets, anything valuable in it and on your person- even when sleeping (this is on the train mind you, not when in a hotel room or flat).
5. Do not bring expensive jewelry. Don’t flash your money around in public.
6. Leave a detailed itinerary of where you are going and when with a family member or friend.
7. Carry important stuff in your carry-on bag and not packed in your luggage. If your luggage gets lost or stolen you will still have your meds, ID, tickets, passport, contacts, etc…
8. Have your name and contact info clearly marked on the inside of your luggage. I always include a phone number for where I will be staying in Europe too as well as my home info.
9. Always be mindful of pickpockets.

I am not sure about luggage on the train as I have never done an overnight train. Sorry.

For what is and is not allowed on the plane go directly to www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm
The list changes frequently and it’s best to check it yourself every time you travel.

If you want more detailed info on what to pack, etc, feel free to email me. I have been to Europe a dozen times and each time I learn more about what I really need to bring with me and what is just a waste of luggage space.
Bon voyage!!
