Does anyone know the best travel insurance for a diabetic going to Europe?
I am going through the UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Germany, and the Netherlands. I am going to attempt and carry all the supplies I need, but wanted to make sure and be covered. Thanks!
I recommend Travelex (www.travelex-insurance.com) or Travel Guard (www.travelguard.com) insurance. I deal primarily with Travelex. The policy covers almost every travel issue, including, medical coverage. Policy has comprehensive coverage and company is excellent when filing a claim. Cost is based on the cost of your trip and age. Travel Guard also an excellent company.
If you are doing this trip with a tour company, their insurance might be less, but doesn’t have the coverage that might be you might require, especially if you are going to do things on your own.
With regards to your medication and syringes, I’d recommend you ask your dr. for a perscription that would provide you with enough meds and supplies for your entire trip in case your supply was lost, destroyed, etc. Ask the dr. for a perscription for syringes as well. You may need a perscription if you must purchase additional syringes.
Pack some of your medication and supplies in each of your bags so that if one of the bags is lost or delayed you don’t lose your entire supply. Suggest you check the following site for what you can bring aboard and how it must be packed.

Have a great trip!
